March 2015, Our group came through here from Lone Pine via Saline Valley Rd and the Grapevine. We were heading for the Lippincott Mine and then to the Racetrack. We turned back due to washouts and uncertainty about 1 mile up the road just past this Monument sign. We were all (3 retired firefighters and wives) outside our vehicles when we were buzzed by an F18 - WOW! God Bless America
