I am very interstd in Climbing to the top of Elephant Rock in Alpine county. I have not found any maps or guides but I have heard it is possible from a few people, and of course this picture. Any tips on how you got up there?
The height of the dam was raised in the late 80's. I've been to Candy rock once since then. My Uncle tells me that a young girl died there and then someone set TNT and changed the whole dynamic of the area.
The Candy Rock was the place to go for a nice summer swim. Not too many people knew about it and access was difficult. Then the dam at Spicer Reservoir was increased in height which allowed more water to be released which was very cold.
My wife and I were visiting the in-laws and after tasting at Bent Creek, we decided to stop off at Steven Kent and taste their fine wine. Of course, I had to take photos of the vines before they are trimmed.

I talked with my Uncle who introduced me to this covered bridge many years ago and he seems to think the toll prices are accurate.
Have you hiked above this spot? There is a cascade of falls just above.
