This is the view from "Grassy Hill" a lookout on the coast just East of Cooktown. It was climbed by Captain James Cook in 1770 after he had spent some weeks repairing his ship "Endeavour" on the banks of the Endeavour River. His ship had been badly holed on the Great Barrier Reef to the South. In the centre of the picture is Cooktown, to the right is the Endeavour River; to the left is a cairn and lighthouse on top of Grassy Hill with the Pacific Ocean beyond.

Taken on 6 August 2005 at 08:34 local time with a Canon IXUS 700 (7.1mp) f/7.1 @ 1/127. The image consists of 18 photos stitched together with PT-GUI software.

Thank you for the idea. I use Ulead 360 software, easy to use but yes, in fact not as good.

Inside the western end of Kyoto Station. The people coming off the escalator in the foreground are 10 levels above the train tracks. To the left, beyond the bright red column, escalators go down to lower levels of the building. If you look straight ahead through the "tunnel" in the centre-left of the picture, you can see the windows at the far (eastern) end of the building. These are about 450 metres away.

Taken on 16 June 2002 at 15:20 local time. Camera was a Nikon Coolpix 900 (3.2MP) f/3.4 @ 1/97. The photo is a matrix of 4 (2 x 2) portrait images stitched together with PT-GUI software.
