A small correction: the name is Effigy Mounds National Monument.

Pike's Peak is such a beautiful park, especially in the fall and winter. Some of the views of the Mississippi river here rival views in the Northeastern US. I love the fact that so much of the path is now a boardwalk. The Indian mounds in bird, bear and circle shapes all along the trails in this park really add to the mystery. One of my favorite places. Not enough people know about this wonderfull park

This shot really grabs the "look and feel" of Frontenac - a fabulously private, even when packed, state park - the bluffs cause a constant breeze off the lake, and keep the mosquitoes to a minimum, too.
