I love travel and photography. Canada, United States, Mexico, Europe, Turkey, and Morocco are the places I have been to so far. Most of my recent travels in Canada have been concentrated on the east coast; and in the United States, in the south and south-west.

I've always considered rainbows to be a ribbon from heaven... this just proves it. :)

Out there on the horizon, about 50 kilometres away, lies Burgeo, the nearest settlement to the east of Grand Bruit.

There used to be an Anglican church in town many years ago, but it was razed.

There is often a caribou up in the Blue Hills, a range of rocky hills over 1000 feet high lying about four kilometres from Grand Bruit. Great hiking trails lead out from the town in all directions.

The small building wrapped in an orange tarp is the Cramalot Inn, a famous gathering spot along the south-west coast. Joe, the owner, must have been doing some repairs.

This picture was taken from the deck of the Cape St. Mary's Interpretive Centre. An easy walk of about half an hour gets you out to the stack where you can watch and photograph the gannets from only a few metres away.

The gannets roost on a high stack only a few metres from the cliff where observers can sit and watch them. We were fortunate to have such a clear day for our visit as this area tends to have a lot of fog. Different species of birds roost at different heights up the cliffs and stacks.

This is Torbay looking southeast from the hill just east of the tiny harbour on the north side of the bay. A beautiful path wanders for kilometres along this shore and provides some wonderful opportunities for picture-taking. The harbour was barely big enough for two 32 foot sailboats and a considerable surge was felt all night.
