I have good memories to the family Zwerver. They were my grandparents neighbour. My grandpa used one of the "Fikershuskes" as barn.

Dag Pieter, bedankt voor je reactie. Het spijt me om dit bericht over je broer te lezen. Ik had me al verheugd in het uitwisselen van commentaren met Fokke, omdat hij ook veel foto's van dit mooie stadsje in zijn galerie had opgenomen.

Hoeveul Harlingers bin hierweg wel niet vertrokken? Naar skoal in Luwadden, en savens weer terug. Naar een ander plak in Nederlaan om daar je geluk te beproeven en soms nooit meer terug te kommen. Of naar see want Harlingers waren seelui op de groate vaart maar oek veul op de kustvaart.

The higher building was in 1847 the house of the Mayor of Harlingen. In 1847 the potatoe riots were taking place in Harlingen. The mob went to the house of the mayor and ramsacked it. The mayor was hidden in the closet together with his maid.
