Bonjour keeperQuébec,

When a city has such a marvellous harbour at its heart, it is wonderful that people make great use of the harbour, and they do. It certainly helps to have a warm climate for it is possible to be on the water 365 days per year. And with new record summer temperatures being set this week, Sydneysiders have headed to the surf, the pools, the harbour .. or into air-conditioned shopping centres.

Thanks for your appreciative comment..

Ian

Unfortunately the cottage does not look so nice anymore. Caught in dispute between the Indian band, Federal government and cottage owners, cottages in Hope Bay are abandoned and falling apart. JerryB

Curious photo, Jerry. Peace Canyon Dam is clear on the other side of the province. Do you think maybe Rio Tinto was just using that as a cover story and this was really bound for Horetzsky?

5000 km trip went without hitch. After sailing BC coast and Alaska we towed the boat to San Carlos in Mexico and sailed the Sea of Cortez.

The original tunnel was used by small locomotives. After the mine closed down the tunnel was enlarged for a bus to go through. It is now a one way road alternating direction every 1/2 hour. Not recommended for claustrophobic drivers.

We dropped anchor at Los Pilares. I took the dinghy to the shore. When I was on the shore, man in a track pants with a gun appeared and started to walk towards me. He scared the shit out of me. Drug runner! Fortunately it was a Mexican Army patrol.
