I live in Wessex a region of the South West of England which has no distinct boundaries, something I quite like. It includes some large towns and a couple of reasonably sized cities, but on the whole it consists of undulating farmland, heathland and higher ground. It also has an amazing coastline with stark contrasts only around the corner from each other.
