WWaterstone's conversations

This church did not stand too well in the 4 Sept 2010 earthquake - not looking too good when we viisted in early 2011, and very little has been done as at 11/2011.

Mind you, it hs a heck of a job, doing the repairs needed to a stone building that has broken, but stayed up with only the front end falling in and outwards. That is the other end to what we see here...

Peter, ChCh.

Certinally it is a Rootes Group car, most likely a Hillman Minx of about 1964 vintage... And blue in colour.

But I never thought the engine would rust down before the car body, and turn into a TREE :-)

I always wonder what happened to my blue '64 Hilman Minx...

Cheers, Peter, ChCh.

Sure if you want to :)

Peisaj de poveste

A side view of Livingstone Hall. This structure was built as an Atheneum in 1893 shortly before the gold mining town went into decline. For many years it was used to stor farm machinery until - in the late 90's it was made into a backpackers.

This is a view looking back across the valley to Livingstone, an old gold mining town.

This pic was taken from the top of the walking track above the Benmore Dam. It looks west over part of lake Benmore towards Taylors Cutting, a popular camping spot for boating and fishing.
