Comparing the Google Earth image with my sketch, I discoverd that since july 2000 some more buildings have been constructed in the northern corner terrain.

This is the little monastery built over the grotto (black square in the middle) were Francis of Assisi took refuge to meditate. It is in hidden in de woods, and, in order to preserve th feeling of seclusion, you can only reach the place by a footpath. However, the place is so famous that hundreds of yelling and running schoolchildren spoil the idea.

This is not the villa itself, but just the entrance gatehouse. Becayuse it was lunchtime, I had to wait for half an hour before the villa opened. Having nothing else to do, I made this quick sketch in my diary.
