Our house is the one with all the palm trees in the centre of the stitched composite, which was taken facing westward. In the distance beyond Palmyra are East Fremantle and Fremantle precincts. To the left of our house the Fremantle War Memorial can be seen in the distance on Monument Hill. The port is on the other side of the hill. If I’d been able to get about another 20 feet higher I probably could have seen the Indian Ocean and Rottnest Island. On the right, or northern side of the panorama can been seen a red Coles supermarket sign on the Melville (Bicton) shopping complex. We can walk there in less than two minutes, which is pretty handy. The complex’s car park is utilised as a flea market on Sunday mornings. For more information go to Fremantlebiz, 7 December 2009.
