This is the Rose Garden in the rear (East) of Villa Philmonte. This area was formerly a swimming pool but the Phillips had it filled in. Notice the green concrete border.
The remains of one of the primary drive wheels for the ore tramway. You can see the groove in the center where the tramway cable rested. Someone, presumably the owners broke off the teeth of the drive wheel.
