This "real England" scene was taken on the road between Edale and Hope in Derbyshire facing west. The true location is extremely difficult to pinpoint as much of the area looks fairly similar, but the bridge in the picture crosses the river Noe via a single track road.

Dale dyke Dam , is just one of several clay core embankment dams in this area. This dam is a later replacement of an original dam, which was situated further down the valley and was the actual dam which burst and caused the Sheffield flood in the late 1800's.

This Is Derwent Dam in time of full flood (early spring ), which holds back The Derwent Reservoir, not to be confused with Ladybower dam, which is further down the valley.
