One of the largest Gulag camps, KARLAG was the site of imprisonment for dozens of thousands of Soviet political prizoners (30s-40s)and POWs from many countries after 1945. In the photo you see monuments (right to left) to POWs of Bulgaria, Armenia, Germany, Finland (not sure about the other two). Also Japan, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Ukraine... Huge field with clusters of black crosses rising from the ground. In the back there is a watchtower.
