Picture of Punta San Vigilio,(close to Garda) where in the early 50ths of last century the former British Premier , Sir Winston Churchill, spent some time while painting landscapes of the Lake. He was staying in Gardone Riviera at Grand Hotel Savoy and hired often local motor boats to be brought from Gardone to Punta S.Vigilio which was a trip of about 1 1/2 hour each leg.
Sir Lawrence Olivier and Vivien Leigh, among the greatest British Actors, stayed instead at the Villa in Punta San Vigilio , shown on the above picture
