No problem Maureen always glad to help. Have had to move most of mine as new imagery became available.

I can confirm the Hotel in your photo is The Newport Bay Club Hotel. I'm rotten with names too but glad others can put me right. Great photo though!

My memory of this hotel was the bitter cold. When I took this picture it was minus 15 degrees. The room was not much warmer! Although this was at Christmas there was not a drop of snow. The only sign of ice was the frozen river and lake on the walk to Disney Village. There is a bus service which could have warmed us up a bit, but from where we were it was a shorter walk to the Village than to the bus stop.

Hi wh33ler, Yes, I remembered when I seen your name as well. You'll probably find a lot more moves, as I had to guess at quite a lot of my Scottish pics.

Thanks, I didn't know about the new imagery, these were mapped on the older system. I will be using a wrist GPS in future to help me locate photographs.

Hi Billy, Without boasting too much it is nice. Took it about 30 years ago. Long before digital cameras and global 'warming'. The only difference today is the mobile phone mast where the middle of my photo is.

Hi, You may not have realised at the time you took the photo but the castle is Baltersan Castle. Built in the 16th Century it has connections to many famous people since. Charles Rennie MacIntosh, Robert Louis Stevenson (author), John Keats (poet), Robert Adam (Architect), and Robert Burns (poet). Someone is currently trying to sell it as it has full planning permission to be restored. It is probably as important as nearby Crossraguel Abbey but for some reason has been mostly ignored.
