♥Fairy♥, I have some very old science books and journals in my collection. The flowery language and allusions to classical icons and characters personified the rage of equating being esoteric with being brilliant. Today, we see it the other way around. Clarity and simplicity of language is preferred over decorative prose. I think the quote speaks of the importance of being a member of the club of lawyers which includes language that may resemble lay language but put to use in the laws has entirely different meanings. The same game is done in medicine. Neither professions can use plain English understandable by everyone, let alone the idle or people some might judge as not having a discerning eye.
