Hi Urias -- so sorry for the late response, I've been busy doing other things it seems, and neglecting my photographic friends. Thanks for your Christmas blessing. Appreciate it, and a wonderful and blessed 2014 to you as well. Sue
Thank you so much for all your comments, Y* and everything else, Francais! All the best to you.
Greetings J-ryu, Thanks for the visit and the wonderful comment. This is the Petit Grepon, a world renowned rock formation that climbers from around the world come to attempt. It is difficult but such a rewarding challenge of strength and skill. For me it is a spire to photograph while my feet are firmly placed on the ground or lake ice. Thanks for the visit. Cheers, Rich
Greetings J-ryu, Thanks for the visit and the comment. Longs Peak is the highest point in the park and is the sentinel looking over its well being. It seems you can always see Longs no matter where you go. The forest on the East side has had some damage from beetle kill, but with so many varieties of trees the effects are not as noticeable as on the west side where devastation was complete, the entire forest gone. But now a new forest grows, so nature knows what she is doing for the good of the land. Take care. Cheers, Rich
A really great sculpture, very famous in Versaille. Very good work of photography. YSL. Greetings. JEAN
Greetings J-ryu, Thanks for the visit and the comments. I hope you are enjoying the tour of the Maroon Bells and Maroon Lake. It is nice to hike above the lake to the next level where you are at the base of the mountains and there are no people. Even when an area is crowded, with a little effort you can find some peace and solitude. Take care and have a great weekend.
Greetings J-ryu, Thanks for the visit and the comment. The ice forms early in the winter when there are still warm days to melt the new snow and cause the icicles. The snow is not deep on the trail yet so you can walk to the high lakes without difficulty. Cheers, Rich
