Photo difficile à prendre car le côté de l'aigle est le côté nord du monument. Attention le signet ne doit pas indiquer la localisation mais l'endroit d'où la photo a été prise! Cordialement.

I think this cemetery is where my uncle, Charlie Van Wilkins was buried when he was killed in WWI. His remains were sent home in 1920. He was killed on 29 Sept 1918 at the Hindenburg Line.

Thanks for your comments! History shows us how easily a war can be engaged. Soldiers'life has few value. I haven't find my french great-grandfathers or -granduncles yet (family was many times recomposed) but I have a german great-granduncle who was in Sommepy (Champagne, 40 kms east from Reims) in 1917. Probably he feel the stupidity of such a war. But it wasn't enough! A WWII was necessary for Europe grows. "Joyeux Noël" is diffused on french channel TF1 monday 7th december 20h50. Another family of a R. M. F. has send me a message: It was O. Buckley and his/her (?)greatuncle was killed on 27 august too.
