Palétuviers plantés en 1983/84

This scarped and rugged mountain caused by erosion rather than by vertical earth movement, inspires awe to visitors who are brave enough to stand on the top of it. Some 70m from base to top at the highest elevtion, the cliff is home to many birds including pigeons and the rare Paille-en-queues (Phaethon lepturus).

Quatres Vents is french for Four Winds. The name refers to the wind apparently blowing from several directions in that mountainous part of the island.
