When I was a child the road here used to go from bitumen to dirt, snake under the bridge then back to bitumen. This section of road has now been replaced with a new railway level bridge and a fully sealed road.
It had been years since I had returned to the place where I was born and bred.
Looking towards Scrub road I noticed something atop the mountain range. It stood out like a sore thumb.
It was a new Weather monitoring station.
As a kid I can still remember my father using this petrol pump. You used the long lever in the side of the pump (now missing) to pump the required amount of petrol into the clear reservoir on top of the pump then inserted the hose in the fuel tank and let gravity do its thing to deliver the petrol.
