I have some very fond memories of stay in Shillong from Dec 1972 to Oct 75 while being part of IAF. I stayed at Laitkur peak ,near Happy valley ,Laban & upper Shillong in Service accommodation. I wish to go back to relive in my past again but it seems almost impossible since I am now in my seventies & settled in Canada.

Actually, the size of the roads is very ample, and an as a minute observer, the traffic jams have more to do with the mindset of drivers, who knowingly or unknowingly, drive in a manner that creates traffic jams, where there is no need for one. Really, drivers in Shillong need to be trained in a proper manner on optimum utilisation of space while driving and how to avoid creating jams. The traffic police have their hands full dealing not with the cars, but the mindset of drivers.

Dear Alf, Nice to see your mail. During that era lots of WWII activities took place in Nagpur, Gondia, Ranchi, Barrackpore, Pandabeshwar, etc airfields. My father was in the Indian Air Force and he retired from Nagpur and is settled down there. Chindwarra is quite a prominient place now with lots of mining activities happening. The cricket is played in the brand new stadium in Nagpur. Thank you for your goods wishes. Keep sending messages. Stay healthy...Ashchak
