O Tasos - Amazing evening
We chanced upon this delightful restaurant after a long and stressful flight into Rhodes. We had deliberately chosen B&B accommodation in order to support the local restaurateurs and experience real Greek cuisine. O Tasos didn’t disappoint! Our hotel was in Kalithea, around 10 minutes drive from Rhodes town and only a five minute drive from the traditionally quaint village of Koskinou, the location of O Tasos. We were immediately welcomed by Jane, who we discovered had come to Rhodes from the UK many years ago and met her husband, Tasos. There are two indoor dining areas, one where the food is prepared and the other, in a small room on the opposite side of the street, seating around 16-20 in total. We were the only diners on this occasion. Jane read a list of the food available and we chose Greek salad, tsatziki and grilled cheese to start accompanied by a generous helping of toasted herby bread. Granted we were hungry, but the flavours were amazing. Our main course consisted of a feast of grilled meats, including offal, chicken and lamb accompanied by home made fried potatoes. Everything was cooked to perfection, tender and flavoursome. Totally sated by the end (and we didn’t leave much), Jane offered us a dessert on the house of Greek yoghurt with her home made candied oranges. Pure heaven! The bill arrived and was very reasonable, given the food qualityand volume and the warmth of the hospitality. We loved it so much we returned a few days later to the same warm welcome and quality of food. It is quite difficult to find, around the corner from the traditional Rhodes house and nestled in the heart of the village. But if you want a taste of the real Rhodes, this is definitely worth a visit. Oh, and as we discovered, they do takeaways too! We were a party of four adults, myself, my mum, my boyfriend and his mum.

Самый большой колокол на Родосе в этом храме Католическом!
One of my favorite places on earth. Great shot, excellent composition. L+F and greetings, Heinz
