As you might have guessed its not cold all the time :-). When the sun is up 24 hours a day it gets quite nice if the weather is good and there is no wind like in this picture. We rented the kayaks in Longyearbyen wich is not far from were this picture was taken(60 km i guess). If you know your way around a kayak its no problem padling in Svalbard. They also have guided kayak tours in this aerea.
