Just visited Vilnius and rented a flat in Vokeciu Gatve (German Street) not far from where this picture is taken. Its a nice neighborhood with restaurants, bars, shops, bakery, hairdressers and even a Casino. I was told that the buildings across the street was a Jewish ghetto during WW2, and there is a statue in Vokeciu Gatve that had a special place in the Lithuanians hearts during the Soviet occupation.
Its just a short walk to more attractions like Genocide (KGB) museum, Vilnius Cathedral, the Opera house, parks, shopping centers, markets etc.
Vilnius and German street was a friendly place I look forward to visit again in near future.

Most of the victims killed in this building were part of Lithuanian resistance movement/Gorrilla war that lasted another 10 years after end of WW2. Over 50.000 of my countrymen resisted the Russian occupation, over 25.000 have died, last one's surrendered only in late 80's.
In Vilnius's Tuskulenai district, mass grave of over 1.000 Lith' victims killed in this buildind was found in 1994, do you sugest writing all of their names on the building?
Anyway, as if all of what you wrote is related anyhow to my picture of the name of the museum
BTW, for your knowledge, there were no Lithuanian Waffen SS division formed (unlike in Latvia or Estonia), those few that did collaborated with Nazi government are sure not treated as heroes, more like the other way. Not to mentioned that that infamous killing of 1000 jews in garages of KAUNAS!! were widely used as propaganda by Germans to portray Lithuanians as ones who understand and support the German goals, that is to exterminate jews. All of Lith's who participated in Nazi atrocities either died or were sentenced to long years in prison...
Besides, i reckon you're from Poland? if so, then you're definetly the last one to give me a lecture on interpretation of history ;)
