I was camped at Sol Duc Park once and was looking at oyster Lake on the map. I was contemplating checking it out, but already had plans to do the high divide loop and decided I didnt have time for Oyster Lake. The smart move, but I still regret it after seeing your pics. Its much more open than I thought it would be. On the map, it looks like there is more timber there. Next time, Im going to Oyster.

I've been to Low Divide twice...once with my Dad on the way into the Skyline Trail in 1992. We got as far as Lake Beauty when the weather soured. Being exactly half way through the trip, we opted to backtrack. My son and I completed the Skyline Trail in 2005. I was disappointed to find that the park service had removed the shelter at Low Divide. That's a location really deserving of a shelter. I'd love to return to the area and see Martins Lakes.

Herb Crisler photographed throughout the Bailey Range in the 1930s and 40s. As I recall, he knew Billy Everett. I do not know much more about Billy, though.

The goats in ONP are fun to photograph. I approached these goats slowly and spoke quietly to them. There were four in the group. They were not as comfortable with my presence as goats I've encountered in other areas of the park, but curious enough not to run off too quickly.

Obviously I haven't been spending enough time at higher elevations lately. Nice pic's Ron, thanks for sharing.
