My wife and I took a day trip to the lodge from Vegas back in May of 2008. What a change of scenery from the glitz on the strip to this wonderful spot. It was 105 when we left our hotel late that morning (took us a little more then an hour to get there)and 78 when we were seated outside on the lodge patio at noon. Super location with great food, people, (yes they do have video poker at the bar)and of course the outstanding view up and down the canyon! When we go back to Vegas another visit to this charming place will certainly be in order.
P.S. Try to stop in the visitors center/store on your way up or down the mountain.
