We used to go here all the time in the early 80's. Almost died when I got stuck under a waterfall. Luckily my sister was there and she was able to pull me out. We always used to sneak a jump when we could. Those were the days.
on the up river side about 4 feet high on the railing you can see my signed carving " I HI" from 19 70 .a great place to spend the day during a torential rianstorm. in the flood tha water was about 5 feet below the bridge. such wonderful places to be for days on end.
The Flood of "72 was when the dam in lincoln broke. it was still a wall of 20 foot water by the time it arrived here. we had been warned by "yogi" and RAN when we heard the roar. awesome power from such a beautiful peaceful river. I spent 6 weeks one summer living in these hills camping.and hanging out with tourist on the weekends.Alone up a trail at the darkest night is still the best thing you can do. to over come your fears.
