I have been photographing Oregon since 2001. I mainly do landscapes. They seem to be much easier to work with :) I am drawn to the outdoors because I feel most at peace in nature. I would love to do a book someday. Maybe with a focus on the environment. I believe nature photographers get a front row seat to observe climate change and its tangeable effects on the land. With their cameras ready to record the proof. I feel a need at this time to preserve the land through my photos. Check out my Personel Gallery at http://www.sacred-earth-studios.com

Andrew, The Rainbow family gathering changes year to year. In 2011 theyr were in Skookum Meadows in The Gifford National Forest Washington

Hello Heather, Oregon is a special place but a lot of Oregonian's don't realize what is in their own backyards. But I bet that is the same no matter where you live. You are in Australia correct? I bet there is places there tht you havn't seen yet. I moved from Oregon to Washington in 2010. There is soo much I don't know about my new home state.

Thanks again Heather. You used to be able to access this area in Bend but the last few times I've been there they have fenced it off..

Thanks Heather. Sometimes I look back at old images I've created and and eventhough there are aspects of the image I really like there are parts that I see that think "Whoa! What was I thinking?" in this case I love the look of the water but the coloring of the fall leaves along the banks are a bit over done.

Thanks Heather, The Metolious River Valley is really a scenic place. Its in an area that was onve called the Old Cascades. then the range of Mt's collapsed creating a valley that now has a river flowing through it.

Hello Heather. The area in the foreground is Lava rock formed from the Little Belknapp crater about 2000 years ago. the tree line up to MT Washington in the Background was a full and healthy forest up till around 2006. As for man made or natural. More like Man assisted by weakening the forest and the Western Bark Beatle finished it off.

Heather, Thanks for ALL the wonderfull comments today. It has been a while since I've posted here on PanOramio. This site holds most of my older work.

I post most of these images and ALL my NEW ones athttp://sacred-earth-studios.com

Michael - just enchanting..such a deep sapphire blue. It must be very deep to have such a depth of colour. L&F, Heather.

Michael - again, such beauty. Love the sombre colouring. L&F, Heather.
