eugenevs~~~That is an interesting observation you make just there Eugene..I had not realised how the past events had affected my desire to leave comments of much worth! Thankfully, the days of contest spam are over and the only motive for those who are kind enough to leave comment is one of genuine interest in my photos, and that is a good thing!
Denise Gregory~~~You are probably wondering what I am rambling on about Denise..As a new-comer, your sensibilities were not offended by the antics of contest spammers..Thank god, it seems now to have been eradicated!
More importantly, your lovely compliment is gratefully received!
Das Motiv kenne ich gut es ist der alte Saugbagger der Hartsteinwerke, die inzwischen geschlossen sind. Am Rande des Baggersees wachsen seltene Pflanzen wie Bärlapp und Orchideen
Thank you for your vote :)
This picture was taken after a big storm and the red'ish color is actually a combination of gras and sand. The cliffs in the background are according to old folklore two trolls that turned to stone when they were caught in the sun :o)
If you come to Iceland it's a must see.
Greetings Andy. If you get the chance to go, take only a light travel rod in the 10 to 15 Kg range. Shimano make a superb Rod--'Beastmaster travel Rod' in 5 pieces to fit in your Holdall. You can buy on E-bay for little money. Use 40kg PowerPro Braid on a good Mutiplier reel( I used a powerful Diawa 400h) and only a few 300gramme pirks. Very little tackle is required for the deep Fjords.
No need to go so far as Skjervoy. Good fishing is all around the coasts of Norway. Some Germans drive all the way. I flew from UK to Oslo, then Oslo to Tromso (8hrs) then 5 hours by bus to Skjervoy. It is a tedious journey. All the information is available on the NET.
Go during the summer months for the big Cod and Pollock
