龙门县城西水口村。这片土地承载了我大部分的童年记忆，包括龙城镇第一小学校园、竹林后的菜地、风景河。回想起来总很感激我出生的年代那纯朴干净美丽的环境。

西林河古称龙门水和九淋水，是龙门县的母亲河。西林河一名其实由来已久。明弘治九年（1496年），广州府析增城县长沙乡之西林、平康和开源乡之金牛等三都，与博罗县小部分地区组建龙门县。由于龙门县址设于西林都七星岗，故缓缓流经龙门县城的龙门水慢慢就有了西林河的称号。据《龙门县志》，西林河发源于韶关市新丰县七星岭，经广州市从化县流入龙门县境，自东北向西南迂回全县，沿途还收纳了蓝田、铁岗、白沙、路溪、邓背、蓝滘、大陂等溪流，至增城、龙门边境处与永汉河汇合注入增江，开始了奔流入海的旅程。

广州市天河区石牌村是广州市最大也是历史最长的城中村，位于繁华的天河区，与两所全国重点大学华南师大和暨南大学相邻。它的主要居民又都是土著农民。但如今，石牌村进行了改造，成为广州市撤村改制的一个典范。
