I haven't been there but have researched it extensively the route. As you are walking through the large portion of the meadows before the bechler ford you can see the top of the water fall on the cliff almost straight north. From the 9b4 campsite you need to ford the bechler river. From the campsite, if you were to follow a compass straight north you would run right into the waterfall. The way the crow flies it just over a 1/2 mile but there is no trail and I have bushed wacked into a few waterfalls and its no picnic. Try going the last week of august and into september. The mosquitos are no bad at all.
I am looking at doing this trip with my scouts from Lewis Lake to Shoshone Geyser Basin. I don't do much canoeing but, this looks like an incredible trip. I would appreciate any advice and a list of things to take. We plan on going third week of august. We are wanting to take some more adults with us to drop us off at the geyser basin. From there we are wanting to meet up with the Bechler river trail and follow the Bechler canyon trail down to the Bechler Ranger station. Would it be possible to send the canoes back with some extra leaders while we continue down the trail?

Wow! That is a great view. How did you get over there? Did you just bushwhack it?
