I went in there once around 1970 it was looking very shabby at that time.I think it was closed down shortly after that and was knocked down sometime in the 70s.
I used to go to steam fairs at the base when i lived in Earlestown in the 6os.

I believe four people went up in a helicopter, judging by the photo's they took they they started north of warrington went as far as Wigan
I found this shot which I didn't intend posting as it wasn't upto standard. I've done a lot of processing to bring out as much detail as I could for you.
It's actually looking slightly left of the viaduct but I think it's what you meant.
