It was here at the Heights of Carillon that a small French force under the Marquis de Montcalm held off a much larger English army led by Gen. This photo of historic Crab Island at Plattsburgh, New York was taken from high bluff known as "Bluff Point". Clinton Community College is now located here at the site of a famous Victorian era hotel. The view east across the lake towards Vermont is spectacular.
