Great shot of the Sellafield plant in Cumbria.....on a clear day do you reckon it would be possible to see the Winter Hill TV transmitter?

Dear Ms Harper, I remember watching as 2 or 3 men started digging on the side of Norbury Brook right after world war 2 and wondered why they were going to plant a market garden there when it would flood after a heavy rain! I lived just down the road, on Macclesfield Rd [before Dean Lane]. I spent a lot of my time helping on the farm which was or is just by Brook-side Garden Center, during the war years they ran about 700 head of dairy cattle on the farm. I lived there from 1937 to about 1945. You can understand why I found your photograph so interesting, it brought back many memories of the war years, like lying on my back on the grass on the other side of the Brook watching a dog fight taking place over my head!! Thanks T.M.

This is a shot of "The Bungalow" level crossing, where the Snaefell Mountain Railway crosses the 'Mountain Road' section of the famous TT course; this shot has been taken from the upper part of Snaefell itself. The brownish building is the station building for the Bungalow station, the White building is part of “Murray’s Motorcycle Museum.”
