Ken Kesey (of Merry Prankster and One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest fame) was knighted by King Arthur Uther Pendragon here in Boscawen Un stone circle in August 1999 just before the solar eclipse.
I am going to post some pictures of this event in Panoramio soon, but they won't be accepted by G-E because they have too many people in them.
Takeo, You can see the view I mentioned before by looking at the panoramic I stitched together from 19 separate telephoto shots I took on this same walk up Kala Pattar. It's in Panoramio right now and will probably be uploaded to G-E in a month or so.
Max: I can't remember, maybe something to do with the Stonehenge midsummer festivals (picture taken in July), maybe just simply to prevent visiting "for free" ?. At that time visitors could go everywere, even climb on some rocks ( i did not publish these pictures, too many people on them), when I went back in the nineties you were only alowed to walk arount the monument in some distance. You get an even more amazing picture if you crop this down to just the road deck, the cables and the container ship. You ought to try that and investigate marketing it.
Well, this is astonishing. I've always wanted to climb up there.
Wonderful fluid image in the ripples. I'll have to look for them when I'm passing by duck ponds in the future.
Very funny. Many Nepalese people hope for no return of the corrupt royal family.
Yes you get these juxtapositions all over the world. It makes you wonder.
It was amazing watching the plans landing on a stamp... Check out my pics, I've added one more from Lukla. No plane on the runway, but para militaries playing volley ball...
Greetings from Germany Thomas B.
This is a fantastic composite Jake. Viewed tons of times. But nobody else commented on it??
But anyway, I was wondering if you could tell me what program you used to make the panorama from separate shots. In March 1990 I did something similar with a zoom lens from the top of Kala Pattar in 19 shots but concentrating more on Everest and Nuptse. I have just scanned them yesterday and would like to stitch them together.
