i was there.about 15 july 1973.sleeping on the sand, behide that wall.i can remember all that crowd, climbing up to the capital thru that narrow path, like a huge colored dragon, for diner.or drink.or both....AND as i hope i`ll get there this september.greetings from greece, fridos.

I am glad to see this more appropriate memorial to the people murdered at the Bloody Island Massacre. I have not visited there since 2008 and 2009 when there was only a plaque on a boulder well off the main highway.

Yup, the Tolkiens first lived here at No.22 Northmoor Rd. Then moved to the larger house at No.20 to give Edith more space in 1930.
