Not2easy: Thank you very much for your comment. Have you visited the Whitebird Battlefield? I recommend it highly. I get a personal understanding from going to these places. The people defending their way of life successfully attacked the cavalry going up hill. The Big Hole National Battlefield is a moving experience with its ghost teepees. The most poignant is the Bear Paw Battlefield where the Nez Perce dream of escape and freedom died within sight of Canada.
If you are interested, here is an interesting exchange of comments I had with various people a couple years ago on my photo of the monument erected at the site of the Fetternam Massacre: I'd appreciate any further thoughts you might have.

Ole: This is a very good overview of the battlefield. Walking among the ghost teepees is a moving experience. Be sure to visit the other Nez Perce battle sites also.

this is real life of Nepal!!! greetings from Nepal Nabin

Chris, this is a great picture. It's better than my picture of the same scene. (Maybe better lighting from the sun later in the day.) But I had trouble seeing your little blue square. It's camouflaged right in that patch of blue-green serpentine the olive tree is growing in. Why don't you relocate it slightly north or even slightly south in the mountains' shadow and you'll get lots more views. Did you make it to the AYG monastery? -- Max

I asked an Ethiopian woman what the twine was for and she didn't know.

Another wonderful shot of this area! LIKE :)
