Hi okramzg
That is, indeed, the place where Jimi Hendrix died. Well, almost died because he actually died in the ambulance that rushed him over to the hospital.
According to the most likely story, he was staying in the basement apartment of his German girlfriend Monica Danneman. They had a fight, she left and returned to find him choking in his own vomit, probably due to a bad reaction to 9 (!) Vesperax sleeping pills...
