AlanBurnett's conversations
Just so you know, if you located this correctly (and I'm pretty sure you have; it's the right wood, though I would suggest the marker should move down to the NE at the end of New House Road, as I believe this was taken just as you enter the wood - sorry I know that is too pedantic) this isn't called Bradley Woods, It is Lower Fell Greave. There is a Bradley Gate Wood but that is the other side of the fields to the east. These then (as you move anti clockwise around them) turn into Dyson Wood & the invitingly named Screamer Wood.
It's also not in Bradley, That being the estate that starts at the other side Dyson Wood. I would say it was either Brackenhall (though that was only the really name of the council estate that has now been knocked down for private house to the West of the wood - although there did use to be a 'Hall' somewhere on the site) or Sheepridge, the small historic settlement at the top of Wiggan Lane to the south.
I know that you were just putting it as an extension of the woods in Bradley, but it is an ancient woodland its own right and quite an important historical boundary. Thanks
Mr Dtb
