I LOVE THE MARTIN CENTER. It was a school it was just recently bought by a lovely couple who are turning it into a community center. It's not finished yet but hopefully more people will come help. I can't wait for it to be finished. Hope you get a chance to check it out!

This is the Stark County District Library. There has been no "city" library since the 1970s when the Canton Public Library became the Stark County District Library. This photo is of the Main Library building downtown; there are several branch libraries in other areas.

When TB was a big threat in this country, this is where people with the Illness were sent here not only for treatment, but to keep them from spreading to others. Many died here.

as of October 2008, Republic still operates several arc furnaces at this location.

This was the site of General Finishers Corp. This I had my first job after getting out of the Army in 1959. I worked there for almost a year before going back into the service. The building is now vacant.

That's actually the Middle Branch of the Nimishillen Creek; there's also an East Branch and a West Branch.

In The first part of the 20th Century the Onesta was the biggest and most expensive hotel in the City. Then there were three Major Hotels Downtown plus a few minor ones. Now they are all gone, the Onesta is just a shell of it's old self. They are talking about make High End Apartment in the building, but who knows if that will happen.
