Just one of the things that amazed me on that island was the evidence of the US leapfrog campaign after 60 years of solitude. It was strange being on there and knowing that it had changed very little since WWII. Great shots BTW.

My wife and I visited this site in 1972. There were no monuments, just a dirt path to the edge of the cliff, but we knew what had happened there. It's one of the most sad places on the planet; women and children who died cruelly for the worst possible reasons.
