Rodger Springsteen's conversations

Just one of the things that amazed me on that island was the evidence of the US leapfrog campaign after 60 years of solitude. It was strange being on there and knowing that it had changed very little since WWII. Great shots BTW.

Awesome photo and one that is not easy to get as well as you did. Nice job !

ваще классный пейзаж... классная фотка автор ;-)

My wife and I visited this site in 1972. There were no monuments, just a dirt path to the edge of the cliff, but we knew what had happened there. It's one of the most sad places on the planet; women and children who died cruelly for the worst possible reasons.

Hey Rodge, Ok, I'm here at work right now and I'm not able to send you a Myspace message..LOL! But this really fascinated me so here's my translation:

  1. The first character means "Martyrdom, follow by resigning"
  2. The second character means "Duty, work, post, employment"
  3. The third character means "tombstone/monument"

So I believe the marker says something like: Martyrs of Duty Monument or Martyrs Memorial.

Hope I helped out :)! Great pictures by the way!

My god. We've been in alot of the same places. Where's Truk pictures.

What year was this?

Always wanted to go to Burning Man. Looks pretty intense. Great photo :) I want more...
