My dad was Chief Builder and built the brick houses in the Navy base where the circle is. He retired on Guam and came back o the states. My pictures are old and new of Guam. I was there in 63-64 and witnessed the hospital being built. Workers prolonged the building by mistakenly starting to fill the elevator shaft. It was a superb facility when first built, especially given the horrible one it replaced. Nothing lasts forever!

vicb,

The Mayor of Northern Island has not sign any agreement/contract with the US military regarding training excercises. There are still people residing on the island right now so what you hear about the military using the island as a target site is not true...believe me i am a member of UNIA.....PAGAN WATCH.

I remember going down inside of this sub sometime between 1951-54 as a kid when I lived on Guam when my dad was stationed at COMNAVMAR. The sub had not been restored at that time and it was pretty scary to climb down into.
