Noel Kennedy / NK Photography

Sligo photographer Noel Kennedy has dedicated over a decade of his life to full time photography and in doing so has captured
some of the most arresting and original images of Sligo life, people, culture and scenery.
A native of Skreen, in the West of Co. Sligo, Noel has grown up surrounded by rolling countryside and comes from a farming
background himself. This earthy 'man of the land' background resonates throughout Noel's landscape and nature photography,
which have captured sometimes stark, often beautiful images of County Sligo scenery, whether it be the rugged face of
Benbulben Mountain or the rock pools of Aughris.
This eye for aesthetics has made Noel one of the most popular wedding photographers in the region. He works hard with
couples to ensure that their wedding album is not just a record of the day, but captures the sense of closeness, family
and celebration prevalent.
Noel's commissioned work takes him all over the North West covering a large variety of events. He has captured candid shots
of Taoiseachs and political leaders, covered sporting occasions both great and humble, photographed performers and artists
in their element and captured many unusual and off-beat shots, the kind of photos which live long in the memory. He has also,
through his work with local and national news outlets, captured harrowing tragedies, great triumphs, passionate protests
and quiet reflections.
And when he puts down the camera, Noel's work continues on state-of-the-art computer equipment. He employs advanced
photography software and utilises online photo blogs.

Celtic Trinity Knot tree design: planted mid '80s by the McCabe Family. They planted that whole hill (known as ‘Tormór’) in the mid-eighties, and planted the design in the centre (Celtic Trinity Knot) with Japanese Larch on Sitka Spruce. They plotted the hill using white plastic bags, ground pegs and a two way radio to give instructions from the opposite layby on the N16. The Glencar area is divided between Co. Sligo & Co. Leitrim, this design & surrounding property is in Co. Sligo. It was privately funded/planted for the enjoyment of all & the Celtic design comes out best in autumn when the Japanese Larch changes colour. source: A.MacCabe, Glencar, Co.Sligo
