Funny, I thought that this ship sunk in Pearl Harbor, not on top of Mt. Ka'Ala. Someone move this marker!

Very few people get to see this ancient Hawaii temple. The road leading to it is gated community with guards and no one can drive through unless they live in the community . This is just past the last house as the tropical forest starts. It is believed that this was originally built in 1450. The only way to see this is to hike to it and you have to know where the trails are.

Someone suggested this photo was taken somewhere else. It was taken exactly where the map shows it, deep in Makaha Valley near Mount Ka'ala.

This was a film camera, then scanned. If I had a better scanner the image would be nicer. The print is great!
I can't begin to describe how much fun it is to play in those waves. Out about 150 yards the waves were reaching 23ft. After this shot I went out there for the rest of the day.
