Hi; :o)
The Bird in the picture is a Male "Rose Breasted Grosbeak" they summer in your area, to mate and nest, and raise their young.
I absolutley Love their "Bird Song" they are similar to a Robins Song, but much "Sweeter" and more "Melodious". I will try to attach an excellent Link here that has a recording of their song, for you to click on and listen to.
You may have to copy the Link and paste it in your browser?...as I don't think it is turning into a link for me?
You will no doubt recognize the song when you hear it..as it truly is unforgettable!
They are a Beautiful, and Hardy Bird, with a Beautiful Song as well. :o)
I Hope this has helped you!
Keep an eye out for many more beautiful birds in your "area"..as you are on the Migration
flying "corridor" that traverses all along the North shore of Lake Erie.
( Look up "Hawks Cliff" and "Point Pelee" on Google too!)
Have a great day! and thanks for szending the lovely picture in...you are fortunate to see
these relatively "Rare" birds! :o) Peace!! Aries
This pool is partway up the slope from the river. About half way between the river and the logging road. I haven't been to the area for several years, and I know there have been new areas opened up. The spot you're describing sounds like it's nearer Halfway Creek's mouth at the lake.

Sorry, but the Martin Mars is not the largest water bomber, Boeing 747 series and DC10's have been configured as water bombers.

That's the Corra Linn Dam owned by FortisBC. The gates in the back are for the Kootenay Canal owned by BC Hydro.
Correction made. Moved to Boswell.
