Hi
I am John van Rooy, with a passion for photography as a hobby. You can see more of my work at http://www.flickr.com/photos/jayveeare/
I live in Hamilton, Waikato, New Zealand (Aotearoa)
After a long time of absence, it is obviously not feasible to provide all new uploads after my last visit with commentary.
But I have them all admired in large format through the slide show, and I confine myself now for this moment to comment on this beautiful picture, which reminds me a bit of the beautiful lakes I've very recently able to admire during a tour in Ireland
From now on, I hope again to find more time for Panoramio and I will try again to respond get as much as possible to new uploads.
Hi Herb
That is volcanic gases being discharged from the crater. I was told by the pilot guide that this volcano discharges 2700 tonnes of gas per day. As well as lots of hydrogen sulphide, CO2, there is also about 1kg of gold in gaseous form.
