It's more of a shingle beach, but yes, there is a sandy beach there. Or at least there was two years ago. I don't know if anything has changed since then.

Yes we did, it was great fun in the snow! If you haven't done it before though I would recommend waiting until a day with good weather. It's not too dangerous though as long as you're careful. Give it a go though, it's a fantastic ridge! I'm a big fan of the Watkin path too.
