OIC... but most people said 'tikar kayu Sarawak' even they knew it is a rattan mats. heheh.. Anyway most of the traders r Indonesian (almost 100%) But what i like here r... the PRICE... the art of bargains and the friendliness of the traders (contrast with what u will find @ M'sia- Thailand Border)
The MID (Medan Info Desa) or village information sector at Stass is a Federal Government Project meant to serve the people in Bau area, particularly those from villages in the vicinity. The Federal Government has many such centres throughout Malaysia and as such I think that the advantages far outweight the 'disadvantages'. Experts are contracted and paid to conduct the various courses (and its various levels) from time to time to various groups of people from teachers to civil servants to the the very ordinary kids.
The manager of the centre is on the Federal Government payroll, the centre realy belong to the Government.
It is because we do not have experts that such a centre is built. There has to be a start.

the first saturday/sunday of salary week always pack with people! luckily i got a place to withdraw cash without long queue (hehe)
