"Hawa Mahal (Hindi: हवा महल, translation: Palace of Winds), is a palace in Jaipur, India. It was built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh, and designed by Lal Chand Usta in the form of the crown of Krishna, the Hindu god. It forms part of the City Palace and extends the Zenana or women's chambers, the chambers of the harem. Its original intention was to allow royal ladies to observe everyday life in the street below without being seen".
Thank you for the photograph and information Serden basak.
Thank you for the information Serden Basak. But my objection is stil valid therefore I repeat here:
The support for the new bridge from the old one [probably a Roman Bridge?] is an eyesore an insult to everything that is valuable and deserve to be protected.
[see also: http://www.panoramio.com/photo/3936143] I have also noticed that, the railing has also been changed, why? Are the Civic Authorities really interested in the overall appearance of the bridge?
